Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 May 2026

These terms govern your use of the Rallyo mobile application (“Rallyo” or the “app”) and any subscription you take out with us. By installing or using Rallyo you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Plain English summary. Use the app for what it’s for — keeping score in padel matches. Pro is a recurring subscription billed by Apple or Google; cancel any time in your store settings. We can’t promise the app is perfect, and we’re not liable for what happens on the court.

1. Who we are

Rallyo is provided by Mad9000 (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@rallyo.co.za.

2. Your licence to use Rallyo

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Rallyo on devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial padel scoring. The app and all associated content (audio clips, branding, code) remain our property or that of our licensors.

You agree not to:

3. Free and Pro tiers

Rallyo offers a free tier and a paid “Pro” tier. The features in each tier are described on our pricing page and inside the app. We may move features between tiers, add new Pro features, or change what is included in either tier; if a change materially reduces what you receive on an active paid subscription, you can cancel and request a pro-rata refund through your store of purchase.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and the free trial

5. Bluetooth remotes and external hardware

Rallyo is designed to work with common Bluetooth selfie remotes that present themselves to your phone as a camera shutter or volume control. We do not sell, manufacture, or warrant any specific remote, speaker, or other accessory. Compatibility, battery life, and pairing behaviour are properties of those devices, not of the app.

6. Audio output and Bluetooth speakers

Rallyo holds the Bluetooth audio route open while it is in the foreground so that announcements play through your court speaker without delay. We rely on the operating system and the speaker’s own behaviour for this; some speakers may go to sleep, lose connection, or change codecs in ways we cannot prevent.

7. Cloud voices (Pro)

Pro premium voices are synthesised through Google Cloud Text-to-Speech. They require an internet connection the first time a phrase is heard, after which the audio is cached on your device. We may apply fair-use limits to prevent abuse; if you hit a limit you will hear the standard offline voice instead, and the app will let you know.

8. Your conduct and content

You are responsible for the player names and other text you enter. Do not enter content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or designed to harass another person — those names will be displayed on the screen and, with custom-name announcements on Pro, spoken aloud at the courts you are using.

9. Updates and changes

We may release updates to fix bugs, add features, or change how the app works. Some updates may require a recent version of iOS or Android. We may also retire features or functionality if we reasonably need to — we will not retire a paid Pro feature without offering you a refund or a replacement of comparable value.

10. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rallyo is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranties — express or implied — that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. The score the app records is for friendly use; for sanctioned competition, the official scorer or umpire is the source of truth.

11. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under law (such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence). Subject to that:

12. Termination

You can stop using Rallyo at any time by uninstalling it. We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the app in a way that causes harm to us or other users. If your subscription is terminated for breach you may not be entitled to a refund.

13. Privacy

Your use of Rallyo is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what information the app handles and why.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to them, except where consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

15. Apple and Google specific terms

Where you obtain Rallyo from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and us — not between you and Apple — and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Equivalent provisions apply if you obtain Rallyo from Google Play.

16. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, surface the change inside the app. Your continued use of Rallyo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
